Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama and started a city-wide boycott. This caused the city of Montgomery lifted the law requiring segregation on public buses. She lost her job because of this and her husband was also fired. Her and her husband had to move because they could not find work. Later in her life she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She also received the Congressional Gold Medal and the NAACP's highest award.
